So many formats!

From VHS & Beta, to Mini DV, Hi 8, VHS-C or even Industry U-matics, we transfer just about every type of consumer video tape created! There are many methods of transferring your old home movies from tape to DVD, with varying degrees of quality. That's why Transfer for Less only uses the superior Digitize, Edit, and Print to DVD method! Video Tapes

Step 1 - Digitizing

Over time video tapes break down and lose quality. For example, you may notice that your video has become very red and that the sound is becoming harder to hear. Digitizing your video is the first step in stopping your tapes from further quality loss. When your tapes are digitized, they are recorded onto a computer using an imaging stabilizer. This ensures that a digital file of the highest quality is produced and stored on our systems. Unlike a consumer video transfer that is placed straight onto DVD, a Digitized video file allows for additional editing and color correction to take place before the DVD is created.

Step 2 - Editing

The Editing stage of the transfer is by far the most beneficial to you and to your video memories. Every video tape is reviewed on the computer and edited by a professional video editor. During the Editing Stage our editors adjust the fading colors and audio from your old tapes. They even cut out any unwanted sections you may have of the ground or sky that were accidentally videotaped when the video camera was unknowingly left on! In short, your video transfer is guaranteed to be of the highest quality before being placed onto DVD. All of this correction and editing is INCLUDED AT NO EXTRA CHARGE! Have a need for something not mentioned? Additional editing time can also be purchased for specialized editing.

Step 3 - Print to DVD

After each of your tapes has been reviewed and edited they are ready to be placed onto DVD. Transfer for Less only creates DVDs using Dolby Digital audio that follow the guidelines established by the creators of DVD, including Sony®, Phillips®, Toshiba® and Time Warner®. We exclusively use top of the line Professional Grade DVD media rated to last at least 100 years! This ensures maximum compatibility and reliably safeguards your video memories for generations to come.
